I visited The Detroit Historical Museum over the weekend, and I saw the coolest found object dress there. It's from the Heidelberg Project in Detroit. There were a couple Barbie heads on the back shoulders, but I couldn't get a good picture of them.
The Heidleberg project is "an open-air art environment in the heart of an urban community on Detroit’s East Side. Tyree Guyton, founder and artistic director, uses everyday, discarded objects to create a two block area full of color, symbolism, and intrigue. Now in its 23rd year, the Heidelberg Project is recognized around the world as a demonstration of the power of creativity to transform lives."

I've been playing with my new black pens and marker paper, and I really like the marker paper. The lines are a lot crisper and there isn't any bleeding from the pens. Dick Blick to rescue once again! I drew a bunch of these inchies the other day, and these are the best six!

I got to go to Dick Blick yesterday for a shopping trip with my Christmas gift card present from a dear friend. I love that store from the moment you walk in. It has its own wonderful smell, like a bookstore does, and the staff are always nice. The first things I found were some super cute animals erasers. Their legs even move.
I also bought some new black pens including two Pitt artist pens, a Pigma Brush and Tombow artist pen. Then I went to look for bleed proof marker paper. In the glue aisle, I picked up some Scotch Wrinkle Free Glue Sticks.
On the way out, I snapped this picture of their front window. Their Christmas window display is so cute!
