A Bird on The Head

I think this one is my favorite following "The Bird on The Head" theme. I made the text using a contact paper transfer with some text I printed out on the computer.

She Loved Her Cat Bird

I'm not sure where this image came out of my brain. I think my migraines might be changing my brain chemistry or something. I initially started making a collage about me and my cat, and this is what I ended up with.

Vintage Hat Club

I finally finished my contact paper transfer girls on ATC cards this weekend. I found the buttons at an antique store. They were in a peanut butter jar full of them for $4.00, so I should have enough for a while unless my cat tries to steal them again.

Twinchie Wacky Houses

Here are some wacky twinchie houses from around the world. I think they could be vacation homes.

Collaged Toe Tags

I know these maybe a little warped, but it's what popped into my head when I bought a bunch of tags at Office Max. I used origami paper for the backgrounds and rub-ons for the Mehndi designs. I may try to draw the Mehndi on the next ones.

Silhouettes Collage

Trying to show the different variations of having a migraine or a headache by using silhouettes. I first tried using a purple background which didn't seem to be working so then I trimmed around the girls and tried another background. I think the purple shadow now seems to help them stand out more. What do you think?

Sweet Cupcake Inchies

Here are some more inchies that I made yesterday. Cupcakes are one of my favorite things!

I had a fairly arty weekend. On Saturday, I went to the Motor City Comic Con and indulged my comic book geeky side. I saw some amazing artists, along with a good deal of celebrities like Joyce Dewitt and Kristy Swanson. Then on Sunday, I went to the University of Michigan Museum of Art to visit the new expansion, and it is impressive.

New Inchie Collages.

Who Had The Scary Baby?

I worked on some inchies today. I think my backgrounds are getting better, and I quite like the scary baby! I'm thinking the girl with the blue bow is the mother. Which one do you pick?

Meet The Meeps

"Meeps" are a paint chip creature that I created. I think it's a cross between a bird and some other creature that I'm not sure about yet. Any ideas?

Rustic Migrainelupe

I've been having a rough week with my migraines, so I made another Migrainelupe collage. The flowers are cut from wallpaper scraps, and the image from the girl is from a vintage photo.

Sharpies Are Stinky

I was home sick yesterday with bad migraine pain, and I tried working on making collages to try to distract myself from the pain. I've been wanting to work on altering decorative papers for my backgrounds, so I decided to try writing out "migraine' in different languages, only the Sharpie smell made things worse.

I like how this collage turned out off balance because that's how I was feeling.

A Bird on The Head

I hand sewed the sequins on the girl's image, managing to stab myself a few times in the process, but I didn't get any blood on the collage.

Mean Girls

I made these twinchies with found magazine images and printed out text, along with some rub-ons that I found at Meyers.

Not Quite Right Scrapbooking

"Cathy loved the memory of playing hide&seek with the lively black mold in her childhood house."

I was watching Scrapbook Memories on PBS to learn some new techniques that I could apply to collage. I'm not really a scrapbooking kind of girl, but then this idea occurred to me about Not Quite Right Scrapbooking, where you take an altered retro image and use it like a scrapbook image.

Fairy Collage

I've been trying to work on adding more layers and embellishments in my collages. I used wallpaper clippings for the flowers and I tried to make the butterfly wings stand out more by using clear contact paper over them.

Extreme Co-Workers

I was trying to make some twinchies(two-inch collages) and I wanted to explore the crazy co-worker theme some more, so I came up with Extreme Co-Workers. I like the idea of hiding their identity, because they might just come after you if they find out what you said about them.
