This is a new collage of mine. I used some background paper that I made a while ago, and the girl is from a vintage photo that I bought in Shipshewana. It took me forever to get her hat right!

Quirky Tall Cupcake Doodles

I've been trying to work on my sharpie/marker skills, so I drew these tall cupcakes as practice. I think they turned out rather yummy looking! I've put the design on Zazzle as a note card.

She loved color and words

I think this is the largest contact paper transfer that I've attempted so far. It's 8 1/2 by 11, and I had a hard time gluing it down to the white cardstock. Also, I tried to use some silver glitter between the transfer and the cardstock on her dress, but I'm not sure how well it shows up.

Mind Your Manners!

I took this picture of the two women at Greenfield Village in Dearborn over the summer. I didn't even realized the one woman had her hand down her skirt until later. I've been looking for a way to use this picture in a collage ever since. I finally figured it out with the ephemera card from 7gypsies and the rest of the collage followed from there.

Vintage Postcards

I've been collecting vintage postcards for the last few months to make my Perilous Vacations. They usually cost anywhere from 50 cents to $2.00 a piece, so imagine my delight when I scored these vintage postcard packs for a dollar each at an antique mall.

I couldn't really see the other cards cause the string was tied so tight, but I figured I would pay a dollar for the ones on the top anyway. There was close to seven cards in a pack and I was so excited to untie them when I got home. I especially like the U.K. ones and there were lots of them I could use for my Perilous Vacations!

Collage Supply Shopping In Ann Arbor

I spent the day in Ann Arbor shopping for collage supplies. First, I went to the Ann Arbor Antique Market in Saline. Last spring, I had thought the market was downsized from previous years, but this fall it was even worse. It is held on the farm council grounds, and there was only one tent of antiques and only four of the barns were occupied with vendors. I did find some vintage women's magazines and a handful of travel postcards, though, so I was happy.

Then I went to Found in KerryTown where I picked up some children's coloring activity books, a vintage stamp of a cat, and the cutest black and white photo of a couple sunbathing. The store was having a sale, so I got a lot more bang for my buck!

She Still Believed In Old Fashioned Romance

My latest collaged contact paper transfer. I used decorative paper for the background, magazine clippings for the girl and the retro images came from vintage magazines.

Perilious Vacations

I'm working on a new collage set called "Perilous Vacations" where I'm taking vintage travel postcards and introducing a collaged element peril to the poor vacationers. I feel a little bad about altering the vintage postcards, especially the ones with writing on the back.
